Making Its Way to Connecticut High Schools
The Connecticut Highway Safety Office along with the CASCIAC have partnered together to bring the "Choices Matter" program to a select number of high schools across the state. The "Choices Matter" initiative is the expansion of the program that reached 46 schools in Connecticut throughout 2016-2017 school year. The program brings in speakers to share their stories about the impact underage drinking had on their lives to the student body.
The life changing presentation led by Chris Sandy has been shared with over one million students across the country. In addition, the program includes an opportunity for the students to participate in interactive demonstrations throughout the day with a safe driving simulator and impairment goggles. The program was incredibly well received by those schools that participated last year and the Highway Safety Office is excited about expanding the efforts to reach additional schools this year.
This program is offered at no cost to the school and will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis. Dates are limited.
To express your desire to have your school considered for inclusion in the Choices Matter program please fill out the application on this webpage.
